Join us for a night of Shakespeare scenes featuring some of the Bard’s most interesting married couples.
February 24-26 & March 3-5
nightly at 8 pm
While a wedding is the end to many of Shakespeare’s plays, it’s only the beginning of the journey of marriage. Shakespeare’s Husbands & Wives, adapted and directed by Jill K. Swanson, explores the dynamics of married life after the world wind of romance. When couples work to build one life out of two; all the while struggling with jealousy, equality, teamwork and disparate goals. Each scene reflects a different dynamic, perhaps one you will recognize from your own marriage.
Portia sums it up beautifully when she demands of her Brutus, “Am I yourself, but, as it were, in sort or limitation, to keep with you at meals, comfort your bed, and talk to you sometimes?
Featuring: Michael Amendola, Kathy Rose Center, Shauna Danos, Bridget Farias, Alejandro McDonald-Villarreal, Erin Molson, Robert Moncrieff, Garry Peters, Laura Ray, Robert Stevens, Heath Thompson & Katie Van Winkle.
